About The Position

As part of the Freedom Boat Club team, the Dock Hand works by the water with a varied fleet of boats and provides customer-focused service to club members. The role includes welcoming members, supporting dock operations, helping with boat departures and returns, and maintaining vessels and the club location. The position is part-time and requires availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. It involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions, in a marina on fixed or floating docks, and near and on the water.

Requirements

• Pass a background check and drug screen.
• Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be able to regularly perform the physical demands of the role, including bending, kneeling, balancing, and carrying equipment up to 25 pounds.
• Be able to read and manipulate handheld tablets.
• Be available to regularly work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Be able to adhere to all safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and thank them with genuine appreciation.
• Make and answer telephone calls using appropriate etiquette.
• Manage the check-in and check-out process using a handheld tablet.
• Check equipment to ensure it is functional and on board.
• Clean and maintain vessels and the club location according to company standards.
• Complete daily clerical work, including preparing the reservation system, fuel logs, and weather reports.
• Become familiar with local waters to provide basic guidance to members.
• Communicate clearly and professionally.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Follow company policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
• Work outdoors in the elements and stand for extended periods.
• Safely move on, off, and in vessels during varying tide and weather conditions.
