About The Position

Palmer Candy is looking for a Dock Coordinator Level II at our North Warehouse location. The Dock Coordinator II – North Warehouse is responsible for all operations at our North Warehouse facility. This includes receiving and unloading trucks from outside suppliers and internal inventory transfers, put-aways and stock arrangements, order picking and verification, pallet tagging, and loading both customer shipments and internal inventory transfers. A Dock Coordinator II is expected to be adaptable, responsive to operational needs, and able to contribute to the overall efficiency of warehousing operations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Proficient with PC systems and software applications
  • Ability to read and understand product labels, lot codes, packing lists, bills of lading, and other shipping and receiving documents
  • Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all functions within the plant and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals at all levels
  • Ability to work overtime as needed and as required
  • Ability to maintain acceptable standards of conduct
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 5+ years for forklift experience
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for movement between warehouse locations in Sioux City
  • WMS and scanner experience required
  • Experience working with food products and familiarity with lot codes and expiration dates, FEFO rotation, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift and electric/manual pallet jack
  • Coordinate workload to ensure that all activities are completed in a timely manner
  • Safely load and unload products from trailers
  • Arrange stock in the warehouse
  • Accurately and efficiently pick inventory to customer orders – verify that the correct product is in the bin, scan bar coded boxes with hand-held RF scanner, pick correct number of cases to the order, and inspect products for defects and/or damage
  • Shrink-wrap finished pallets using a wrapping machine and stage orders in the warehouse
  • Ensure proper code date / lot code rotation using FEFO
  • Create pallet identification labels as required by customers
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Perform simple maintenance and housekeeping tasks
  • Check equipment to ensure health and safety requirements are met
  • Other duties as assigned.
