About The Position

The Shipping Clerk is a key player playing a vital part in managing the flow of goods in and out of the shipping department while ensuring proper communication with various teams, tracking shipments, managing schedules, and adhering to all safety and operational policies. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

Strong computer skills & knowledge of Microsoft Suite Apps.
Certified or willing to become PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) trained.
Well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Dependable and reliable, with a clear understanding of the importance of meeting deadlines.
Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical skills.
Great organizational skills with a winning record of updating data accurately.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong verbal and written bilingual communication skills.
The ability to work in a warehouse home team environment with a winning set of communication skills.
Have your game on to work a shift with overtime, as necessary (i.e., flexible hours & days).
Attention to detail.
Ability to stand for 8-10 hours depending on the daily work volume.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of warehouse management systems such as FMS, DMS & TMS preferred.
Familiarity with Professional Sports Leagues and Teams is a plus.
Bilingual – Spanish and English
Experience with Manhattan and Oracle systems

Responsibilities

Overseeing the process of loading containers and packages at the docks. This includes ensuring that goods are properly loaded onto transportation vehicles safely.
Ensuring that all necessary shipping documents, such as bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists, are complete and accurate. This helps prevent errors in the logistics process and product distribution.
Physically verifying goods to ensure they match the quantities and descriptions on the shipping documents. This may involve using inventory control systems, barcode scanners, or RFID systems.
Supervising the workflow at the dock to ensure operations are efficient and timely. This may involve coordinating with the operations team, truck drivers and other workers.
Maintaining clear communication with other departments in the shipping operation, such as planning, transportation, to ensure smooth operations.
Observing and reporting any damage or discrepancies in the loading process and coordinating necessary actions to address the issue.
Accurately sum up and record data.
