About The Position

The Executive I position serves as a sourcing specialist for master and government cooperative purchasing agreements. This individual will process cooperative procurement utilization for the agency, provide technical assistance on category guidance on master contracts and cooperative agreements, and coordinate compliance, documentation, and reporting for master contract and cooperative procurement activity. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, task oriented, and organized. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college preferably with coursework in business or public administration.
  • Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
  • Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in contract processing and monitoring procurement processes in a public or business organization.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen.
  • The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefers at least one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in contract processing and monitoring procurement processes in a public or business organization.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience processing public sector procurements.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience developing master contracts, indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts, blanket purchase agreements, or comparable multi-release procurement methods.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience drafting solicitations or specifications for multi-release procurement methods.
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience supporting compliance documentation, audit response, or records management for procurement files.

Responsibilities

  • Under direction of the Sourcing Supervisor, serves as a sourcing specialist for master and government cooperative purchasing agreements.
  • Processes cooperative procurement utilization for the Illinois Department of Corrections.
  • Provides technical assistance on category guidance on master contracts and cooperative agreements.
  • Coordinates compliance, documentation, and reporting for master contract and cooperative procurement activity.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
