About The Position

FranU is seeking a part-time, temporary DNP Instructor (CRNA) for their Baton Rouge, LA campus. This role involves providing effective instruction in assigned graduate courses and contributing to the school and community through teaching and service. The instructor will uphold Franciscan values and integrate the Catholic and Franciscan intellectual traditions into their work.

Requirements

  • Clinical experience as a CRNA
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) certification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Teaching experience in a DNP-NA program or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Provides effective instruction in assigned graduate courses on a part-time, temporary basis.
  • Fulfills and sustains the duties and functions specified by established appointment and promotion criteria, including teaching and service to the school and community.
  • Prepares instruction that reflects stated course student learning outcomes.
  • Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course.
  • Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour; instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Evaluates student achievement.
  • Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance, posts grades in a timely manner.
  • Implements curricular and instructional interventions.
  • Develops student learning outcomes.
  • Utilizes peer review and coaching.
  • Applies what has been learned from formative and summative feedback on instruction.
  • Reflects on summative students’ evaluation of academic advising experience.
  • Assesses reports and perceptions of peers and others regarding fidelity to academic advising roles and responsibilities.
  • Advises students through feedback, coaching, remediation, and engagement.
  • Presents at local, state, national and/or international professional conferences.
  • Ensures the integrity and quality of the Program curriculum through ongoing assessment.
  • Coordinates Program assessment activities, implements assessment driven curriculum revision.
  • Administers and organizes the Program in order to ensure general effectiveness of the Program.
  • Directs other Program faculty/staff.
  • Engages in professional development activities to promote development in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
  • Solicits and participates in funded research (identifying specific role, funding source, and status of each project).
  • Actively participates in community groups and organizations, as related to the College’s mission.
  • Participates in committee work at the program, school, or institutional level (delineate roles and nature of participation).
  • Integrates emerging academic technologies into course designs, ensuring they are both pedagogically sound and user-friendly for faculty and students.
  • Coordinates and teaches clinical education courses and other related course content based on areas of content and clinical expertise.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
