Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma required.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience in working with the frail or elderly population.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation.
  • Familiarity with word processing, data processing, and computer entry skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or training in proper handling and maintenance of medical equipment strongly preferred.
  • Preference would be to have either training or related experience in the job assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the inventory, maintenance and provision of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provided to Senior CommUnity Care of Colorado (SCCCO) program participants.
  • Responsible for initial receiving, asset tagging, delivering, retrieval and maintenance of SCCCO owned medical equipment.
  • Responsible for all administrative functions associated with the equipment including managing records of provision and delivery of equipment, inventory tracking, invoices, etc.
  • Cleans and restocks DME upon retrieval from participants homes.
  • Coordinates and schedules preventive maintenance, monitors location of equipment and prepares reports of utilization of equipment with support of the Rehab Manager.
  • Deliver DME and supplies to SCCCO participants in a safe, courteous and timely manner.
  • Prioritize and coordinate equipment pick-up and delivery from participants and vendors.
  • Clean and disinfect DME, tag and inventory as ordered/retrieved equipment is received.
  • Repair, replace or dispose of unused DME not being used.
  • Maintain SCCCO Equipment Log.
  • Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance or calibration for all SCCCO DME, including equipment located in day centers, therapy gyms, clinics and participant homes.
  • May coordinate with other department staff to ensure maintenance occurs and monitors completion up to compliance standards.
  • Coordinate with vendor and rental companies as necessary.
  • Provide participants, family members, caregivers and staff with appropriate training and instructions for safe operation and handling of equipment as recommended by manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as required or requested.
