About The Position

The Divisional Merchandiser position will primarily support stores in Western Operations (PV05) and requires the candidate to be located near a major airport with direct flights. The role involves implementing and upholding merchandising standards, including proper merchandising, product mix, pricing, and quality assurance. The Divisional Merchandiser is responsible for the overall showroom appearance across various product categories such as upholstery, electronics, appliances, computers, and accessories.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • 2 years of experience with merchandising, inventory management preferred.
  • General product knowledge required.
  • Up to 90% travel required.
  • Flexible availability. The schedule will typically be Monday-Friday; however, it may vary based on business needs and directive.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and move 50-300 pounds with the assistance of a furniture dolly or hand truck.
  • Professional appearance in compliance with dress code.
  • Demonstrated selling skills and high energy level.
  • Good computer knowledge/skills (Excel, Word, Adobe).
  • Ability to drive and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Understand effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. This includes the ability to describe or explain complex processes and issues in a concise manner.
  • Cultivate effective partnerships with clients to achieve results; team player, comfortable working on multiple teams/projects simultaneously and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Visits stores throughout the division to review and perform merchandising duties.
  • Trains team members on merchandising deficiencies.
  • Executes proper stock balancing and inventory levels, reviewing inventory during store visits and training GMs.
  • Trains Sales team members on showroom floor maintenance, including the 'No Holes Policy', accurate pricing, product ordering, and customer service logs.
  • Maintains and improves showroom appearance according to the first-up system and Open Floor Plan, developing and posting plan-o-grams with marketing tools and proper pricing.
  • Verifies all pre-leased merchandise on the showroom floor is 'Certified' to company standards and monitors the 'Certification Zone' for proper stock of QA supplies and equipment.
  • Addresses 'discontinued' and 'distressed' merchandise and follows up with the lease max program.
  • Assists with new store openings, relocations/remodels, acquisitions, close/merge operations, and GM changeovers.
  • Completes operational projects as assigned by the Divisional Coordinator.
