About The Position

We are looking for a seasoned construction leader who has built a career delivering large-scale General Construction projects and developing the teams that make them possible. THE ROLE As Division Manager, you will have full ownership of the division’s operational and financial performance. You will lead a team of Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Engineers across large-scale commercial projects while driving business development, client relationships, and divisional growth.

Requirements

  • You have 10+ years of experience in construction management with a strong background in large-scale General Construction projects, typically $10 million and above
  • You have proven experience managing a construction division or leading large, complex project teams
  • You are a strong financial manager with a demonstrated track record of delivering profitable results, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • You have a strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, standard contract language, insurance, and indemnification
  • You are a leader who invests genuinely in the growth and development of the people around you
  • Clients trust you. Subs respect you. Your reputation in this industry reflects the way you do business.
  • You are proficient in construction software such as Procore, MS Project, and related tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered

  • Certifications in project management or related areas are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operational and financial performance of the General Construction division across projects, typically $10 million to $100 million and above
  • Lead, develop, and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, and Project Assistants
  • Drive business development and client acquisition, building lasting relationships with owners, architects, developers, and industry partners
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, oversee bids, estimates, and budgets, and ensure the short and long-term profitability of the division
  • Oversee all projects from preconstruction through closeout, including long lead analysis, start-up paperwork, submittals, documentation, budget maintenance, cash flow monitoring, change order processing, punch list completion, and closeout
  • Oversee preconstruction planning, including plan reviews, constructability reviews, subcontractor coverage, bid schedules, permit procurement, scope coverage, and staffing requirements
  • Review and approve subcontract scopes, change orders, Margin Analysis reports, and project buyout with the Project Manager
  • Oversee and review project schedules and lookahead schedules with Superintendents and Project Managers
  • Lead weekly project team meetings
  • Conduct risk management assessments and manage issues related to safety, legal compliance, and financial stability
  • Assist with staffing, recruiting, and annual performance reviews for division personnel
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on strategic planning, market opportunities, and division growth
  • Ensure Deacon’s Mission, Vision, procedures, and Core Values are followed consistently across the division
