About The Position

Cooper Tacia General Contracting is seeking a Division Manager for their newest office in Richmond, VA. The Division Manager will operate their own business within the Cooper Tacia organization, overseeing all aspects of the division. This role requires full P&L responsibility, setting and achieving financial benchmarks, creating and managing division plans and budgets, enforcing policies, and managing hiring and team development. The Division Manager is expected to be the public face of Cooper Tacia in their market, both professionally and civically.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or construction management
  • Extensive experience in running all aspects of construction
  • Keen understanding of business and risk management
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience running a general contracting business or construction business unit with full P&L responsibility
  • Proficiency in Office Suite
  • Proficiency in Procore
  • Proficiency in Sales Force (CRM software)
  • Proficiency in BlueBeam / Acrobat
  • Proficiency in Acumatica (accounting)

Responsibilities

  • Full P&L oversight and reporting
  • Direct oversight of office staff, preconstruction lead(s), business development (BD) lead(s), project management lead(s), etc.
  • Full hiring, terminating, advancement, and training responsibility for division staff
  • Ensuring accountability of teams and individuals
  • Winning business and managing the division's pipeline with support from project executives, preconstruction, and business development
  • Acting as the ultimate leader for preconstruction, BD, and project operations
  • Establishing Cooper Tacia as a go-to for local work utilizing CM@R and Design-Build delivery methods
  • Becoming a trusted partner with owners, developers, and architects in the service areas
  • Building relationships with key players at municipalities to establish Cooper Tacia as a recognized force in local bidding
  • Ensuring project execution is on time and profitable, while building relationships with design teams and clients
  • Building and developing seamless project teams
  • Addressing all legal issues
  • Developing and tracking operating budgets to support growth and planning
  • Planning for the future with 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year plans
  • Serving as the public spokesperson for the business unit, attending public meetings, and getting involved in the community
  • Fulfilling the company’s civic duties
  • Performing other tasks and initiatives as requested by corporate management
  • Driving personal development and the development of division leaders
  • Working with HR to meet staffing goals and attract talent
  • Fostering a positive company culture by getting involved, engaging teams, and creating social opportunities for team development
