About The Position

Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is seeking a highly motivated attorney with extensive prosecutorial experience to join her management team as Division Chief of the Enterprise & Major Crimes Division in the Attorney General’s Criminal Bureau. The division is staffed by a group of experienced prosecutors who partner with intelligence analysts, Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Attorney General’s Office, and local, state, and federal investigative and enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute large-scale narcotics trafficking organizations throughout the Commonwealth.

Requirements

  • Must be a member of the Massachusetts bar or be eligible for admission in short order.
  • At least seven (7) years of full-time legal experience, including handling narcotics-related investigations and prosecution is preferred.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in reviewing search warrants and wiretap warrants or other complex criminal litigation is desired.
  • Prior management and/or supervision experience required.
  • Significant trial experience and grand jury experience required.
  • Demonstrated motivation to serve the public interest.
  • Ability and desire to be a part of a highly active team, and to handle multiple complex and challenging priority matters simultaneously.
  • Effective written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent legal writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to develop and strengthen the written work of the Division.
  • Outstanding judgment, decision making and strategic thinking skills.
  • A valid Massachusetts driver’s license is required, as travel is necessary to various courts.
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve and an interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the division’s Assistant Attorneys General and other staff.
  • Oversee the investigation and prosecution of cases.
  • Review search warrants sought in connection with investigations.
  • Mentor division staff and assist them with advanced skills development.
  • Handle own caseload of primarily narcotics and firearms-related matters from investigation through sentencing.
  • Communicate effectively with outside agencies, and to maintain and cultivate those relationships.
