About The Position

Division Accountant manages the financial operations, job-cost tracking, and reporting specific to a division within a larger construction or contracting company.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within the construction or project-based industry.
• Proficiency in construction-specific ERP or accounting software (such as Sage, Viewpoint/Vista, Procore, Foundation, or CMiC) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of construction accounting principles, retainage, bonding, lien laws, and GAAP compliance.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen with a 'Negative' result.
• Must be able to complete a post- offer physical with a 'Capable' result
• Eligible to work in the United States

• Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold

Responsibilities

• Track project costs, manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, and monitor budget-versus-actual expenses.
• Handle progress billings, client invoices, retainage tracking, and appropriate revenue recognition methods (such as the percentage-of-completion method).
• Process vendor invoices, monitor aged receivables, and manage lien waivers or sub-contractor payments.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and division-specific cash flow or cost-forecasting reports.
• Partner with Project Managers, operational leads, and corporate accounting to review job performance and address change orders.
