The Diversion Prevention Pharmacy Technician serves as a dedicated support resource to the Controlled Substance Use Coordinator, functioning as a direct operational extension to the organization’s diversion prevention program. Working under the Coordinator’s supervision and direction, this position carries out the day-to-day surveillance, investigative, auditing, recordkeeping, and educational functions that allow CMH’s controlled substance compliance program to operate proactively and at scale. A key responsibility of this role is the daily investigation, reconciliation, and resolution of narcotic discrepancies, including follow-up with staff, documentation, and escalation of unresolved issues to ensure regulatory compliance and medication accountability. Equally important, the position advances CMH toward a stronger, more defensible regulatory compliance posture by ensuring that controlled substance oversight is consistent, data-driven, and aligned with current DEA, California Board of Pharmacy, CDPH, and healthcare accreditation organization standards.
