About The Position

The Diverse Learner Supervisor will work with Pathways In Education staff to improve the diverse learner student experience and student skills growth and reclassification in Pathways In Education schools by providing specialized instructional support and improving student and staff access to resources and developing and monitoring systems to ensure compliance and accurate record keeping. This position will focus on Special Education, English Language Learners, and gifted learners. This position works with the home office team in CA and supports staff in IL, LA, ID, and AZ. This position will have a home office but requires travel for client site meetings, and corporate events and professional development quarterly. Must be flexible to travel to CA, IL, LA, ID and AZ.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, school staff, district staff, and stakeholders
  • BA or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ SPED experience with students experiencing learning and/or behavioral difficulties preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the diverse learner programs (Special Education, ELL, gifted, MKV) in Pathways In Education Schools to support with compliance oversight, program implementation and professional development.
  • Gather and analyze student performance, assessment, and compliance data for strategic planning, analysis of student achievement data, charter development, and other duties as assigned
  • Provide diverse learner program compliance oversight and ensure accuracy and alignment between SIS and state systems regarding student enrollment records, IEPs and evaluations, transition plans, language classification and re-designation
  • Ensure all assessment, evaluation, and reclassification requirements are met for Special Education and ELL students
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with relevant district departments to ensure requirements are accomplished, accurate records are maintained, and Pathways In Education meets all compliance requirements; liaison with district authorizers and attend meetings as needed
  • Initiates, supervises, schedules, builds and performs staff development as related to Special Education, ELL Curriculum and Instruction; provide guidance for Gen Ed teachers and school leaders as well
  • Identify a sound IEP goal progress and transition plan monitoring system and execute its implementation and provide ongoing follow-up of results, communicate findings with leaders effectively
  • Establish relationships and monitor 3rd Party Vendor support for related services and assist with hiring as needed
  • Support school leaders, EL staff, and teachers in utilizing assessment results to make Individualized Learning Plans for each English Learner that moves them effectively and efficiently to proficiency in English; monitor data and communicate with leaders as needed
  • Monitor diverse learner student trends at site and state levels in assessments, goal setting, reclassification, grade equivalency and skills growth, curriculum, and access to postsecondary resources, communicate with leaders as needed
  • Partner with PMG Instructional Team in providing and monitoring interventions for diverse learner students and ensuring access to online learning resources, small group instruction classes, and ensuring rigor and standards alignment of curriculum and assessment
  • Analyze and audit available curriculum as it serves Special Education, ELL, MKV and gifted students, ensure access to resources for students, work with curriculum department to ensure alignment with any pertinent requirements
  • Remain up to date on relevant district policies, special education and ELL laws, and transition planning, and services and monitor any implications for our program in authorizing districts and states, and provide policy support
  • Research new materials and recommend pilot projects for providing the most effective program for students in Special Education, ELL students, and gifted learners
  • Foster positive communication and relationships with stakeholders for parent engagement and partnerships
  • Establish relationships and monitor 3rd Party Vendor support for related services and assist with hiring as needed
  • Research supports for higher needs students and support the development of MOUs with provider programs as appropriate
  • Performs other administrative functions and duties as assigned
