About The Position

EnviroScience, Inc. (ES) is currently seeking a full-time commercially trained diver to support marine field operations and environmental services projects in South Florida. This position will support vessel-based field operations, underwater inspections, marine debris recovery activities, and other diving-related services. The position is based in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area and requires regular field deployments throughout this general location in South Florida. This is a non-union, full-time hourly position with benefits as offered by EnviroScience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Strong diving and communication skills
  • Advanced open water SCUBA certification
  • Nitrox certification
  • Medically cleared to dive to up to 80 feet
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Valid diving and DOT physical
  • Valid advanced open water SCUBA certification and logbook
  • Valid CPR/First Aid card
  • Valid 02 provider card

Nice To Haves

  • Higher level dive certification(s) such as rescue diver, master diver, dive medic as well as a current ADCI or IMCA commercial diver / tender certifications or ACDE diploma are strongly preferred.
  • A USCG captains license is also desired.
  • Valid ADCI dive card
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER 40 hr.
  • Academic or professional experience in marine biology, fisheries, wildlife biology, environmental science, ecology, conservation, or natural resource management.
  • Previous experience conducting field surveys, biological monitoring, environmental sampling, habitat restoration, invasive species management, scientific diving, or marine conservation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting field operations associated with marine debris recovery, underwater inspections, equipment maintenance, record keeping, scheduling of diving activities, coordination with project supervisors, and regular reporting to EnviroScience management regarding field activities and project progress.
  • Performing safe and efficient diving duties in south Florida. Duties include basic biological inspections, remediation, and general equipment maintenance and inspection tasks.
  • Perform topside support of diving and project-related activities, including tending, setup/breakdown and daily maintenance / housekeeping.
