About The Position

The District Treatment Court Program is seeking a qualified individual to fill the District Treatment Court Coordinator vacancy in the Bingham County District. The position performs professional, managerial and administrative duties to plan, organize, direct and coordinate District Treatment Court programs in accordance with guidelines promulgated by the Idaho Supreme Court and the Supreme Court Treatment Court Coordinating Committee. Treatment Coordinators typically work with an assigned county; however, all coordinators have an expectation to assist with workload coverage throughout the district.

Requirements

• Graduation from college with a bachelor's degree in social sciences, criminology or related area; and Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience performing above or similar duties; two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory or lead capacity; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.
• Thorough knowledge of treatment court models, treatment case management approaches, drug testing processes, service referral, available community resources, common mental health and substance use disorder diagnosis, leadership principles, team dynamics, conflict resolution strategies, adult/juvenile justice systems, court processes, and laws governing probation and pretrial release compliance and sanctions.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; conduct factual analysis of case information and field observations; maintain confidentiality in managing sensitive legal issues and cases; operate a variety of office machines and computer systems; and develop effective working relationships with elected officials, legal professionals, agitated/aggressive people and the public.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Idaho drivers license.
• Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing and a thorough background investigation.
• Proficient keyboarding and data entry skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Power-Point, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate and direct the operations of assigned treatment court programs.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and requirements of the Treatment Court(s) in compliance with statewide guidelines, generally accepted best practices, and the needs and resources of the local jurisdiction.
• Coordinate the application and admission process for prospective participants and maintain accurate participant files and case management information.
• Attend treatment court team staffing meetings and court hearings and provide information regarding participant compliance and progress.
• Coordinate treatment services and community resources, including substance use disorder treatment, mental health treatment, educational and vocational services, housing, recovery support services, health care, and family services.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with treatment providers, probation departments, court personnel, judges, prosecutors, law enforcement personnel, and other interested parties.
• Collect, compile, and evaluate information for assigned treatment court(s), including required reports to the Idaho Supreme Court and information relating to program effectiveness.
• Oversee participant drug testing, treatment authorizations, treatment provider quality control, and related program services.
• Monitor treatment court budgets, participant fee collection, grants, expenditures, and required financial and statistical reporting.
• Identify training needs, participate in training and meetings, support the local steering committee, and perform other job-related work and services as assigned or required.
