About The Position

The purpose of the District SIT Team members is to monitor and evaluate progress towards the District Improvement plan. This role serves as a leader and FAME coach for a specified grade level or department, acting as a support liaison for continuous improvement in curriculum, instruction, and assessment. The team is composed of Pre-K-5th Grade Level Leaders, Curriculum Leaders (6-12), experts in Assessment, MTSS, Whole Child, Pre-K-12 Elective Educators, and Pre-K-12 Special Education Educators. Teacher leaders are expected to exhibit important skills, values, and dispositions, calling others to action to improve teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Attend four District Improvement Meetings per year to monitor and communicate progress with the District Improvement plan.
  • Plan, coordinate, conduct, and communicate the results and/or learning of District Continuous Improvement Meetings back to the individual building during assigned Tuesday/Wednesday meetings.
  • Participate in monthly FAME team planning meetings with other District Continuous Improvement Chairs to collaborate and learn with other teacher leaders.
  • Create an agenda to lead discussion and learning about the Formative Assessment Process in grade level and/or content teams.
  • Plan and facilitate meetings with grade level or department members, sharing strategies to improve instruction and review student data in alignment with FAME focus.
  • Assist with the planning and facilitation of vertical meetings as applicable.
  • Provide support from Curriculum & Instruction and Special Education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
