At the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), we plan, build, maintain, and protect the transportation systems that connect communities, support commerce, and keep Louisiana moving. Join the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) as a District Sign Specialist, where you'll play a key role in maintaining and installing traffic signals through the district. The overall function of this position is to install & maintain signage on state routes, including lane/road closures for District 07. Work is generally performed outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions, depending upon the nature of each assignment. This position is located in the District 07 Gang 750 of the Department of Transportation and Development and reports directly to Highway Foreman 2. The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties many times with or without minimal supervision and also be able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise. The incumbent will participate in appropriate DOTD structured training programs and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required tasks. A valid Louisiana Class 'D" Chauffeur's license is required upon appointment. This posting may fill multiple positions.
