About The Position

Bruegger's Bagels is seeking a District Shift Leader who will participate in a targeted General Manager development plan. This role is designed to train individuals to become a General Manager, with the expectation of promotion to a GM role upon completion of the development plan. District Shift Leaders perform management duties at a home location and support other bakeries in the market as needed, traveling to gain experience and learn from other leaders. They lead by example, act as brand ambassadors, and provide coaching and training to teams. The role involves jumping into various tasks to ensure high-quality food and beverages, maintain a safe and clean store environment, and cover for General Managers in their absence. The GM development plan includes training in administrative duties like inventory, vendor orders, cash management, P&L analysis, food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates including early hours and weekends (starting as early as 3am).
  • Must be able to pass background check and possess a current, valid driver’s license.
  • Must complete Bagel Brands ServSafe Certification program by the end of the GM development plan, if a valid certification is not already in possession.

Responsibilities

  • Perform management duties at a home location and support other bakeries in the market as needed.
  • Lead by example, act as a brand ambassador, and provide ongoing coaching and training for teams.
  • Jump into different roles every shift to ensure high-quality food and beverages for guests.
  • Maintain a safe, clean store environment.
  • Complete training in restaurant administrative duties such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management.
  • Learn skills such as P&L analysis, achieving food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting.
  • Fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market.
  • Accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available.
