About The Position

Einstein Bros. Bagels is looking for a District Shift Leader to join their team. This role is part of a targeted General Manager development plan, preparing individuals to become a General Manager. District Shift Leaders perform management duties at a home location and support other bakeries in the market as needed, traveling to gain independence and learn from additional leaders. They lead to the standard of a General Manager in their absence. Shifts can start as early as 3 am for early baking and store opening. The role involves leading by example, acting as a brand ambassador, and providing coaching and training. District Shift Leaders will also jump into various roles to ensure high-quality food and beverages and maintain a safe, clean store environment. The GM development plan includes training in administrative duties like inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management, as well as P&L analysis, food cost and labor target achievement, scheduling, and recruiting.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
• Must be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates including early hours and weekends (starting as early as 3am).
• Must be able to pass background check and possess a current, valid driver’s license.
• Must complete Bagel Brands ServSafe Certification program by the end of the GM development plan, if a valid certification is not already in possession.

Responsibilities

• Perform management duties at a home location and support other bakeries in the market as needed.
• Lead to the standard of a General Manager in the absence of the General Manager.
• Lead by example, be a brand ambassador, and provide ongoing coaching and training for the teams.
• Jump into different roles every shift to ensure high-quality food and beverages for guests and keep a safe, clean store environment.
• Complete training in restaurant administrative duties such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management.
• Learn P&L analysis, how to achieve food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting quality team members.
• Expected to fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market.
• Expected to accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available.
