About The Position

Einstein Bros. Bagels is looking for a District Shift Leader to join their team. This role is part of a targeted General Manager development plan, preparing individuals to become a General Manager. District Shift Leaders perform management duties at a home location and support other bakeries in the market as needed, traveling to gain independence and learn from additional leaders. They lead to the standard of a General Manager in their absence. Shifts can start as early as 3 am for baking and opening duties. The role involves leading by example, acting as a brand ambassador, and providing coaching and training. District Shift Leaders will also participate in restaurant administrative duties such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management, and will learn skills like P&L analysis, achieving food and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates including early hours and weekends (starting as early as 3am).
  • Must be able to pass background check and possess a current, valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Expected to fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market.
  • Expected to accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available, specific location is not guaranteed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform management duties at a home location and support other bakeries in the market as needed.
  • Lead to the standard of a General Manager in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Lead by example, be a brand ambassador, and provide ongoing coaching and training for the teams.
  • Jump into different roles every shift to ensure high-quality food and beverages for guests and maintain a safe, clean store environment.
  • Participate in training in restaurant administrative duties such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management.
  • Learn skills such as P&L analysis, how to achieve food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting quality team members.
  • Complete Bagel Brands ServSafe Certification program by the end of the GM development plan, if a valid certification is not already in possession.
