About The Position

Einstein Bros. Bagels is seeking a District Shift Leader to join their team. This role is part of a General Manager development plan, preparing individuals to become a General Manager. District Shift Leaders will perform management duties at their home location and support other bakeries in the market as needed, traveling to gain experience and learn from other leaders. They are expected to lead at the standard of a General Manager in their absence. The role involves early morning shifts starting as early as 3 am for baking and opening duties. District Shift Leaders will lead by example, act as brand ambassadors, and provide coaching and training to teams. They will also be involved in various roles to ensure high-quality food and beverages and maintain a safe, clean store environment. The GM development plan includes training in administrative duties such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management, as well as P&L analysis, food cost and labor target achievement, scheduling, and recruiting.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates including early hours and weekends (starting as early as 3am).
  • Must be able to pass background check.
  • Must possess a current, valid driver’s license.
  • Must complete Bagel Brands ServSafe Certification program by the end of the GM development plan, if a valid certification is not already in possession.

Responsibilities

  • Perform management duties at a home location and support other bakeries in the market as needed.
  • Lead by example, act as a brand ambassador, and provide ongoing coaching and training for teams.
  • Jump into different roles every shift to ensure high-quality food and beverages for guests and maintain a safe, clean store environment.
  • Participate in training for restaurant administrative duties such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management.
  • Learn and apply skills in P&L analysis, achieving food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting.
  • Fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market.
  • Accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available.
