About The Position

Emerson is seeking a dedicated Factory Automation District Sales Manager (DSM) to lead and grow an established territory in Eastern Canada (Quebec or Maritimes). This role involves managing Factory Automation customers and channel partners, driving revenue growth, and contributing to a fast-paced, performance-based, multicultural team environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity to join Emerson's Fluid and Motion Control Salesforce and deliver value to various industries.

Requirements

  • Post Secondary Technical graduate in Engineering or College degree in Instrumentation, Controls and Automation or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant technical sales experience in mechanical/electrical automation or process industry.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
  • Strong presentation, communication, and networking skills both in-person and virtually.
  • Must excel in relationship building, negotiation and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Ability to travel 25% - 35% with overnight and extended travel days within the assigned territory.
  • Authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship now and in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluid Power knowledge/experience.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software, and sales-related tools.
  • Experience with Salesforce would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to exceed sales targets within the assigned territory for Factory Automation Market.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities and market trends and capitalize on them to drive revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain a sales pipeline, with a consistent focus on new customer acquisition, opportunity creation and closure.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Actively engage channel partners with a focus on sales and market share growth; hold them accountable to sales targets, activity levels, and joint business development plans.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing Factory Automation key customers.
  • Understand customer needs, provide technical expertise, and offer solutions that align with their requirements.
  • Address customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, including sales activity, customer feedback, and Factory Automation market trends analysis.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and participate in the annual budgeting process.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies related to Fluid and Motion Control - Key brands include ASCO, and Aventics.
  • Collaborate with the FA Industry Sales team to align new product development with evolving market needs and technology demands.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Fluid and Motion Control’s product portfolio supporting Factory Automation industries – Forestry, Pharmacutical, Food/Beverage, Packaging, special machinery etc.
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to customers, showcasing the value proposition of Emerson's products and solutions.
