About The Position

The District Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales objectives by implementing sales and account strategies, discovering and realizing project opportunities within their assigned sales district, and soliciting new customers to increase product demand. This role involves cultivating long-term relationships with key decision-makers, planning and executing effective sales calls using CRM, delivering professional presentations, working with local manufacturer representatives, maintaining sales reports and forecasts, tracking expenses, and participating in corporate training to foster continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sales and account strategies in accordance with corporate goals.
  • Develop and implement Key Account Plans for strategic accounts to exceed expectations in revenue retention/growth, account profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty.
  • Increase demand for company products by discovering, developing, and realizing Project Opportunities in CRM.
  • Prospect and solicit new business partners.
  • Maintain a cycle of scheduled calls and visits to customers based on CRM Segmentation Strategy.
  • Grow the customer/contractor database for the specific territory.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with key account decision makers.
  • Develop a complete understanding of the organization’s structure and key buying influences of assigned accounts.
  • Conduct sales calls and deliver professional presentations to various individuals and groups.
  • Advance market growth by understanding, adapting, and effectively communicating the value proposition for each constituent group.
  • Manage the annual sales plan and strategic account plans to achieve market penetration and promote product lines.
  • Work with local independent manufacturer’s representative agencies as directed by management.
  • Travel to various locations to provide ongoing training and support.
  • Receive leads from trade shows or other sources, prioritize them, and follow up on resulting opportunities.
  • Provide support to cross-functional teams to ensure client deliveries are executed as agreed.
  • Contribute to the adoption of EDI and VMI by Distributors within the District and Regions.
  • Maintain monthly sales reports and business metrics.
  • Identify business opportunities and report on trends and new products.
  • Provide weekly reporting and updates to management.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports for management regarding field activity, sales, competitors, and forecasts.
  • Track travel and incidental expenses and submit expense reports on a timely basis.
  • Maintain, update, and utilize CRM/SAP Mobile Sales daily activity calendars to track information, including documenting Opportunities, entering sales call activities, linking customers, ranking contractors, and keeping calendars up-to-date.
  • Attend meetings as required and/or assigned.
