About The Position

The District Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving the annual operating plan by working with distributors to increase route averages and recruit new distributors into the territory. This role involves conducting "work-with" sessions (truck ride-alongs) 3-4 days per week to provide coaching and support to distributors, including initial training and potential extended periods for new starts. The manager will also focus on attracting and retaining distributors, conducting new franchisee training, managing field start processes, and performing route surveys. Additionally, they will manage regional credits and adjustments and participate in Student Tech shows.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in the mobile tool sales industry
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting new talent into an organization.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven time management skills and strong business acumen and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of the local automotive repair market
  • Prior experience as a small business owner or in coaching and mentoring small business owners.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of route/field sales experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of management experience directing multiple field/route sales professionals.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% within the specified sales territory and potentially outside of territory.
  • May need to travel up to two weeks at a time.
  • Must be able to lift more than 10 pounds. This includes bending, twisting and pushing.
  • Willingness to live in the sales territory: Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, Rockford, IL to Madison WI.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve annual operating plan by working with distributors to increase route averages and recruiting new distributors into the territory.
  • Conduct effective work-with (truck ride a-longs) 3-4 days per week to provide coaching and support to distributors in the territory.
  • Conduct new franchisee training (2-week ride-along for new Distributors).
  • Completes field start process with all new Distributors and revisits as needed to develop/coach as directed by Regional Manager and Regional Business Analyst.
  • Conducts Field Excellence Meetings monthly with entire district.
  • Participate at Student Tech shows.
  • Manage regional credits and adjustments.
  • Perform route surveys for all new starts as well as surveys at the request of the Regional Manager.
