About The Position

FLSmidth Cement USA, Inc., seeks a District Sales Manager to develop sales programs designed to increase department profits. This role involves performing sales activities within the assigned sales territory in the Midwest USA, driving the sales of the aftermarket cement product line, and arranging sales calls to meet with customers. The District Sales Manager will sell aftermarket parts/consumables, rebuilds & modernizations, and services portfolio. They will act as the primary customer contact, building and maintaining strong relationships through excellent customer service. The position requires developing and implementing sales strategies to increase market share, building value propositions and ROI to differentiate FLSmidth, and providing pre- and post-sales technical assistance and product education. Collaboration with internal teams is essential to maximize sales potential. The role involves visiting installation sites to consult with customers on equipment operations, replacement requirements, and pending scope of work. Maintaining comprehensive account plans for key accounts and managing the expense account within budgeted guidelines are also key responsibilities. The District Sales Manager will complete regular entries and updates in the CRM application, devise and implement customer development plans, and implement a cost-effective customer contact plan. Developing customer account records, monitoring account purchase history, and providing timely feedback on proposals are also part of the role. Additionally, the position requires taking competitive action regarding complaints and disputes, researching opportunities for new products, and providing accurate sales reports including local sales forecasts and market needs. Employees will be required to travel 70% of the time on domestic trips lasting 1-2 weeks. Partial telecommuting is permitted from within a commutable distance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Chemical Engineering, or a closely related engineering field
  • 2 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation
  • Experience working within the cement industry (2 years)
  • Experience reading technical drawings, manuals, and parts lists (2 years)
  • International sales experience (2 years)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
