The District Sales Manager – South Central is accountable for delivering the West district’s quarterly and annual sales performance for SCIEX instrument solutions. This role translates regional strategy into disciplined execution, ensures forecast accuracy, develops commercial talent, and drives profitable growth through consistent standard work. This role reports to the Senior Director of Sales, Americas, and is part of the Commercial Sales organization. The position is Texas based, works remotely in support of the South-Central region. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Deliver district‑level orders, revenue, and margin results across the SCIEX instrument portfolio through effective execution of the regional sales strategy. Own district forecasting rigor, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly order and revenue commitments. Develop and execute district growth and action plans using DBS methodologies, visual management, and performance metrics. Build and maintain senior‑level customer relationships and key opinion leader engagement across the West region. Assess competitive and market dynamics, identify growth opportunities and risks, and implement timely countermeasures. Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders (Service, Finance, Sales Operations, HR, IT, Legal) to achieve business objectives. Lead, coach, and performance‑manage direct reports, enabling capability development, engagement, and succession readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science–related discipline or equivalent experience in technical sales, including high‑complexity capital equipment within life sciences.
  • Demonstrated experience achieving or exceeding commercial targets in the life science capital equipment market.
  • 5+ yrs experience leading individual contributors in a sales environment.
  • Experience owning sales forecasting, territory planning, and pipeline management at a district level.
  • Demonstrated application of structured continuous improvement or business system methodologies
  • Experience leading and operating effectively within a remote, geographically dispersed organization.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the S Central region, including overnight travel, as business needs require.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
