District Safety-Security Officer
About The Position
The position of District Safety and Security Officer is an armed position that patrols district and adjacent property, school property within assigned areas, on foot or in a vehicle, to ensure the safety and security of students and the public. The Officer works with building administrators, students, staff, and the local police to ensure compliance with school district policies and state laws as related to schools. The Officer responds to alarms, provides first-line incident response, and facilitates emergency management as necessary. This position is responsible for ensuring the security of buildings and grounds; school safety; and contacting local law enforcement for response to criminal activity.
Requirements

- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to pass a physical examination.
- Must be able to pass a psychological examination.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State concealed pistol license.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State security guard license.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State law enforcement firearms proficiency certificate.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State basic law enforcement academy certificate.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State POST certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State emergency management certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State first aid certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State CPR certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State AED certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State bloodborne pathogens certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State hazardous materials certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State crisis intervention training certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State de-escalation training certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State conflict resolution training certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State defensive tactics training certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State firearms instructor certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State driver training instructor certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State first aid instructor certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State CPR instructor certification.
- Must be able to obtain a Washington State AED instructor certification.
