Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of operations management experience in similar industry.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Commercial Driver’s License – Minimum Class B
  • HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements
  • Ability to conduct accident / injury scene investigations, root cause analysis, report out of findings.
  • Ability to perform Onsite DOT, OSHA, and FDA inspections.
  • EPA and hazardous waste spill reporting requirements and recovery procedures
  • Experience in developing and delivering safety training
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Must be proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel & PowerPoint, able to navigate custom databases and on-line document management software

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree, related to Safety, preferred
  • First Aid/CPR certified
  • CDL driving license

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with field management and team members, operations department and safety department to promote personal ownership of safety, share successes, and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Lead safety management activities to include emergency response plans, safety award program, hazmat recertification, FDA, driver recertification, OSHA certification, programs, and NUCO2 certification programs.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct safety training for NUCO2 employees.
  • Document, lead and participate in accident investigations; perform root cause analysis, and recommend preventive actions.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for worker’s compensation and general liability insurance end-to-end processes.
  • Provide analytical support to assign district in the form of maintaining a monthly dashboard of KPI’s with trend analysis.
  • Facilitate and participate in monthly Safety Committee Meetings and facility inspections, documents & posts meeting minutes and tracks written action items to completion.
  • Ensure post-accident drug screens are completed as required.
  • Trains and coaches new and existing drivers on use of applicable tools, equipment, and safe driving practices.
  • Schedules and conducts ride alongs to evaluate driver knowledge, operating behaviors, and compliance with federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards, recommend corrective actions, and monitor their implementation.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and reports, ensuring timely submission to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Must be proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel & PowerPoint, able to navigate custom databases and on-line document management software.
