About The Position

Canteen is seeking a strategic and results-driven District Operations Manager to support and optimize operations across a portfolio of Micro Markets, Vending, and Office Coffee Service (OCS) accounts. This leadership role partners closely with the District General Manager to drive operational excellence, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and employee development throughout the district. The ideal candidate is an experienced operations leader with a strong background in multi-site management, team development, and service delivery. They are highly organized, analytical, and customer-focused, with the ability to balance operational execution, financial accountability, and associate engagement in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive operations management experience in vending, micro markets, office coffee service, foodservice, retail, logistics, distribution, or related industries.
  • Experience leading multiple locations or managing through supervisors and frontline leaders.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and operational performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex operational challenges and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience with customer-facing operations and service-focused environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.

  • Associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Union or labor relations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations across multiple Micro Market, Vending, and Coffee Service locations within the district.
  • Drive operational excellence by improving productivity, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor district and branch performance, ensuring financial results align with company objectives and budget expectations.
  • Analyze operational metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and account retention.
  • Partner with local leadership teams to develop action plans and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, food safety requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Support new account installations, market openings, equipment deployments, and service transitions.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to support customer retention, account growth, and new business opportunities.
  • Coach and develop Customer Service Managers and operational leaders to strengthen performance and leadership capabilities.
  • Assist with workforce planning, staffing, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Support labor relations activities and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
  • Serve as a key liaison between field operations, customers, and district leadership.
