About The Position

Eaton’s Engineering Service & Systems division is hiring a District Operations Manager to lead our field services engineering team in Phoenix, AZ. This position will be based out of our Phoenix site and is subject to 25% travel, mostly within Arizona. Candidates must be based locally and commutable to Phoenix as relocation assistance is not available. The expected annual salary range for this role is $146000 - $215000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a service, sales or engineering role within the electrical industry
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience leading a service or engineering unit

  • This role is designated as a Regular Driver per Eaton’s Driver Safety Policy and requires a current, unrestricted driver’s license along with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record. Candidates will be subject to a motor vehicle record check upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree (undergrad or advanced) in electrical space (Electrical Engineering, for example)
  • Knowledge of power distribution, control products; as well as field service practices and procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Electrical and EESS industry, products and solutions.
  • Candidate needs to have a working knowledge of the overall sales function, customer channels to market, and negotiation techniques and must be able to manage division, customer and departmental resources to maximize growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a sales and marketing agent in conjunction with sales and operations management to ensure top-line sales and bottom-line profit objectives are met.
  • Develop and manage profit plan and monthly forecasts with accuracy so that the operation meets these numbers on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis.
  • Responsible for budgeting and procurement of capital equipment for the territory, efficient execution of sales quotes, cost control, leveraging subcontractors, inventory management, managing receivables, and turn of backlog and projects.
  • Assure an effective and skilled staff through recruiting, assessment of talent (find gaps and follow action plans to fill gaps), training & development, goal setting, communications, performance appraisal, and conformance to applicable company policies and standards
  • Assure the safety of employees who work in low, medium, and high voltage work environments. Assures strict compliance with safety policies, develops and deploys safety programs, assures safety equipment resources are available and properly tested, provides direction for proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Effectively manages a team of diverse and dispersed field-based workforce throughout assigned territory. Demonstrates good corporate citizenship. Assures the security and effective allocation of company resources and assets.
