About The Position

Abbott Point of Care (APOC) is a global leader in providing critical medical diagnostic and informatics products for rapid blood analysis. The i-STAT System is an advanced, portable diagnostic tool that provides real-time, lab-quality results within minutes to accelerate patient-care decision-making and optimize resource utilization. The Piccolo Blood Chemistry Analyzer also assists clinicians with point-of-care testing. Both systems foster a collaborative, patient-centered environment while driving improved operational performance. This role is for a District Manager in the New York/New Jersey territory, leading a team of Point of Care Solution Specialists responsible for sales in the diagnostics industry. The sales cycle is complex, involving multiple stakeholders. The District Manager will provide leadership, motivation, coaching, and skill development to their team to achieve sales strategies, customer loyalty, and staff development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of healthcare, diagnostics, point of care (POC), lab, or capital equipment sales experience.
  • 3+ years of experience leading, developing, training, and mentoring direct reports.
  • Possesses strong MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) skills.
  • Highly proficient at using the Salesforce.com, or similar, CRM platform.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% in assigned district and other business locations in the USA.

  • Proven leader, trainer, and coach of sales professionals within the hospital or outpatient Diagnostics or Medical Devices industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of five-seven (5-7) Point of Care Solution Specialists covering Hospital and Outpatient customer segments.
  • Generate sales in the disruptive, growing Point of Care diagnostics industry.
  • Provide leadership to sales representatives through direction, motivation, coaching, skill development, and knowledge sharing.
  • Execute sales strategies that result in financial goal attainment, strong customer loyalty, and staff development.
  • Hire, develop, and coach extraordinary sales professionals who execute complex, long-term sales strategies.
  • Identify and synthesize customer and competitor insights, market and industry challenges, and apply APOC product solutions to drive long-term strategies and foster enduring customer relationships.
  • Ensure achievement of sales and commercial objectives across assigned district.
  • Develop and execute plans to accelerate district sales growth and profitably capture and increase market share.
  • Take an entrepreneurial approach to increase the district’s profitability.
  • Partner with cross-functional internal APOC colleagues to ensure customers meet or exceed contractual obligations.
  • Champion new initiatives and identify opportunities to build a culture of collaboration within the district.
  • Build strong and lasting relationships with Distribution partners that maximize top line growth and profitability for APOC.
