About The Position

World Market is seeking a District Manager for the Atlanta Market. For over 60 years, World Market has searched the globe for design inspiration, emerging trends, and time-honored handicrafts to bring stylish home décor, quality furniture, thoughtful gifts, and a wide assortment of international foods, beverages, and candy. The District Manager will lead a group of 10-16 retail stores, supervising Store Managers to deliver an exceptional customer experience, operational excellence, visual merchandising, and profitable sales growth. This role involves building a high-performance team, fostering an inclusive culture, identifying business trends, maintaining an effective store visit routine, setting challenging goals, and solving problems aligned with company strategy. The position reports to the Regional Director.

Requirements

  • Multi-Unit experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results, execute company direction, and manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and build a diverse, high performing team that thrives in a service-focused, collaborative, and omni-channel environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build merchandising capability of your team that maintains the customer shopping environment to company standard.
  • A can-do attitude and a desire to go beyond what is expected.
  • Actively maintains positive peer relations and rapport with corporate partners.
  • Ability to travel away from home up to 75% of the time.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a group of 10-16 retail stores, directly supervising Store Managers.
  • Deliver a Customer First shopping experience, operational excellence, visual merchandising execution, and profitable sales growth.
  • Build a high-performance team that delivers results and consistency between stores as measured by the P&L and company KPIs.
  • Attract, recruit, retain, and develop a high-performing team to meet short and long-term company goals.
  • Conduct routine succession planning and provide updates to the Regional Director.
  • Communicate effectively with teams on business goals and monitor their performance to ensure results and sales/metric goals are achieved.
  • Foster an inclusive culture and collaborative work environment that invites feedback and associate participation.
  • Identify trends in business performance across stores and lead performance opportunities.
  • Maintain an effective store visit routine focused on driving Customer First service behaviors and critical assessment of best practices.
  • Set stretch goals for the team to continuously improve performance.
  • Identify and solve problems with sustainable solutions that align with company strategic and tactical plans, policy, and procedures.
  • Maintain a sharp awareness of the competitive environment and communicate observed opportunities with corporate partners.
