About The Position

The District Manager position is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple store locations, ensuring they meet company standards for cleanliness, stocking, organization, and customer service. This role involves direct supervision of store employees, recruitment, hiring, training, and performance management. The District Manager also manages supplier relationships, resolves customer complaints, and contributes to the company's public image within the community. Financial analysis, budgeting, and safeguarding company assets are key components of this role, along with ensuring timely and accurate reporting and merchandise management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of retail work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
  • Ability to supervise and train for the use of equipment, tools, and materials listed in CSR, LSR, and SA job descriptions.
  • Ability to supervise and manage the functions listed in CSR, LSR, and SA job descriptions.
  • Ability to use a computer or acquire necessary skills for store computer use, including completion and analysis of reports, inventory control, cash control, and employment-related forms.
  • A valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to have open availability.
  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in English.
  • Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions.
  • Ability to work in the described conditions.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Food Server certificate (e.g. ServSafe) and Food Safety Management certification may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises the activities of 2 or more full-time employees, including Assistant Managers, Lead Representatives, and Customer Service Representatives.
  • Recruits, hires, and trains employees to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Develops, manages, and assigns tasks to ensure stores are clean, adequately stocked, organized, and well-kept according to Company standards.
  • Maintains a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisor.
  • Schedules employees according to Company guidelines and business needs to maximize customer service and maintain store image.
  • Implements non-discriminatory management practices in hiring, training, counseling, mentoring, motivating, and separating employees.
  • Develops positive and professional relationships with all suppliers.
  • Promotes excellent service and resolves customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provides regular and predictable onsite attendance.
  • Promotes and ensures a safe, positive public image within the neighboring community.
  • Prepares ongoing and timely performance appraisals for all employees, including check-ins and anniversary reviews.
  • Trains all employees to ensure customer service, store image, and marketing execution meet Company standards.
  • Trains all employees on safety procedures and promotes safety awareness.
  • Mentors and trains employees on cash awareness and expectations to reduce risk.
  • Ensures employees complete all required training in a timely manner.
  • Develops methods to ensure all employees receive proper communication in a timely manner.
  • Establishes periodic communication meetings with all store employees and the Market Manager.
  • Evaluates and develops specific action plans to address store needs and reach objectives.
  • Organizes and maintains all store files and manuals.
  • Manages and supervises store employees to ensure required reports are completed accurately and timely.
  • Manages and supervises store employees to ensure merchandise is stocked, attractively displayed, and priced correctly.
  • Ensures all required employment-related posters and signs are easily accessible to employees.
  • Analyzes daily sales and expense information and takes appropriate action to maximize sales and net profits.
  • Budgets and forecasts P&L lines, and understands and manages merchandise margins.
  • Safeguards and accounts for all money received and disbursed.
  • Performs other financial analysis necessary to maximize sales and net profits.
  • Notifies Market Manager of any sales, cash, inventory, or operating discrepancies.
