Runnings is seeking a District Manager to oversee a portfolio of high-performing stores in the Northeast region. This strategic leadership role involves guiding multiple store teams to success in a fast-paced retail environment, influencing performance across several locations, and making a meaningful impact on both people and business results. Requirements

  • 7+ years of retail, hospitality, or related multi-store management experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to coach, inspire, and build strong relationships with managers and team members.
  • Skilled in motivating diverse teams toward shared goals and operational excellence.
  • Uses sound judgment, data, and insights to drive business decisions.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Leverage business analytics to strategically improve operational performance and efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training, feedback, and performance management to Store Managers.
  • Promote engagement, communication, and collaboration across stores.
  • Recruit, hire, and develop high-performing store-level leaders.
  • Set clear expectations and strategic priorities for teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and teamwork.
  • Drive exceptional customer service and brand consistency throughout the district.
  • Oversee financial performance, ensuring stores meet or exceed annual goals.
  • Maintain operational consistency, strong organization, and effective delegation across stores.
  • Champion safety, loss prevention, and compliance standards.
  • Ensure stores and properties are well-maintained, merchandised, and aligned with community needs.
  • Travel regularly between stores to support teams and monitor performance.
  • Promote community connections by enabling stores to serve and support their local communities.
  • Act as a liaison between stores and Support Center partners.
  • Collaborate with Retail Buyers, Merchandising, Marketing, and Operations teams.
  • Share store-level insights, market trends, and operational feedback with Support Center partners.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across the organization.
