About The Position

The District Manager, reporting to the Area Operations Manager, is accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of propane and associated services within a defined geographic area. This role provides leadership to frontline teams, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. The District Manager plays a critical role in aligning field execution with corporate strategy, driving performance through effective workforce management, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability. This District Manager will be based out of our Abbotsford, BC location and be responsible for our Abbotsford, Squamish, and Pemberton locations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in operations, preferably in the propane, energy or utilities sector.
  • Proven experience managing frontline teams including drivers, technicians and service specialists within a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and regulatory compliance
  • Effective communicator with experience in cross-functional collaboration across departments like HR, Finance, Logistics and Sales.
  • Experience managing district-level budgets, controlling expenses.
  • Strong customer service orientation

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, operations management or related field is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a safety-first culture and ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Conduct regular field visits and coaching sessions to reinforce Zero Harm principles.
  • Maintain compliance with Department of Transport and enterprise HSE standards.
  • Oversee daily delivery and service operations across the District.
  • Ensure adherence to delivery protocols, route schedules, and service standards.
  • Partner with Commercial and Marketing teams to address customer feedback and resolve issues.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of drivers, technicians, and plant/utility staff.
  • Collaborate with HR and Logistics on seasonal staffing models and workforce planning.
  • Drive accountability and employee engagement through clear communication and performance management.
  • Manage district-level budgets and control costs, including overtime and fleet utilization.
  • Monitor and enforce KPIs related to delivery, service, safety, and resource productivity.
  • Provide frontline input to Finance, HR, and other corporate functions to inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with fleet maintenance programs to maximize uptime and reduce costs.
  • Oversee infrastructure and inventory management, including propane tanks and parts.
