Responsible for the maximum utilization of vending services provided by Navy Exchange-owned Micro Markets and or contracted vending machines located at Navy Exchanges within the designated District. This role involves monitoring and maximizing operational performance, developing financial projections, analyzing reports, and initiating corrective actions. The position works under the general guidance of a supervisor, implementing recommendations, and leading the development of Micro Markets. It also includes soliciting new locations, managing subordinates, coordinating training, ensuring product availability, maintaining operating records, and conducting audits. The District Manager is accountable for the performance and mission effectiveness of assigned departments, ensuring compliance with operating procedures and efficiencies, and assessing the integrity of functions, particularly in high-risk areas susceptible to loss. They are also responsible for product distribution, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with policies related to theft, errors, cash handling, and inventory shrink. The role requires identifying and correcting problems, training associates on quality customer service, and being familiar with Vending Software for operational support. The District Manager assists in implementing procedures for inventory control, merchandise, vending routes, and replenishment. They review and analyze vending machine reports, identify underperforming machines, and initiate corrective actions, including relocating or phasing out equipment. Installation and maintenance of credit card readers are also a responsibility. The position involves preparing equipment requests, maintaining records, and ensuring annual audits of fixed assets. Analysis of different vending operation methods (direct run, contract, Micro Market) is required to determine the most advantageous approach for locations. Direct oversight of Micro Markets is crucial, including customer service, filling, cleaning, and maintaining in-stock levels, as well as ensuring the fresh food program is implemented, monitored, and maintained with sanitary handling. The role requires staying updated on industry trends, coordinating comparisons with other operators, supervising personnel, staffing key vacancies, evaluating performance, and implementing NEXCOM policies and procedures. Ensuring subordinate supervisors comply with safety, sanitation, food handling, internal controls, and security regulations is vital. The District Manager supports and communicates EEO policies, assures equality in all personnel actions, and coordinates with EEO officials. Performs other related duties as assigned. Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a top secret clearance.
