About The Position

The Florida Senate is accepting applications for a District Legislative Aide position. This role supports one of forty Senators in a designated work location/county, with opportunities for both full-time salaried and temporary hourly positions. The successful candidate will be based in a Florida office, with potential travel within the district and to Tallahassee. This position requires assisting a Senator with administrative and public relations tasks, demanding a strong understanding of the Florida Legislature's policies and procedures. Full-time salaried employees will be required to file a Form 1 – Statement of Financial Interests with the Florida Commission on Ethics within 30 days of hire.

Requirements

  • For Salaried positions: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year of administrative experience.
  • For Salaried positions: A master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for the one year of required experience.
  • For Salaried positions: Professional or nonprofessional administrative experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
  • For Temporary/Hourly OPS positions: A high school diploma or its equivalent, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and work experience.
