About The Position

EquipmentShare is hiring a District Field Technician (Mechanic) within our Midland South, TX region. This role involves providing maintenance and repair for a variety of customer and company-owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts. Mechanics will have the opportunity to work on the newest equipment in the industry. A sign-on bonus of up to $3,000 may be offered at the manager's discretion based on experience. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after working 40 hours. On-call duty during the weekend is only in special circumstances. As a Field Technician, you’ll use technology to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track machine service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues faster by pulling data from hundreds of makes and models. With real-time information, you can determine the root cause and corrective action for each issue quickly, enabling you to work smarter, not harder. Mechanics will practice safe job practices for repairing equipment, use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably, and perform maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment. They may also assist in training lower-level technicians, maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed, and assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts. Field Mechanics may be required to travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment and must maintain their service vehicle in a clean and professional manner. Year-round company-provided OEM training is available. Requirements

  • Must own tools applicable to position
  • Ability to travel weekly to support business needs
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
  • Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Field Technicians may be required to be clean shaven in order to enter worksites for EquipmentShare customers who have this requirement
  • This is a safety sensitive position and any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a 10 panel drug screen
  • Employment is contingent on passing a background check
