About The Position

Position Description: Are you a Geology professional with experience in Exploration and looking for growth? We have an exciting opportunity for you! Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Exploration Manager to join the Barrick North America Exploration leadership team. As a vital member to the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing Barrick´s Exploration Strategy across the region to deliver high-value discoveries. This position reports directly to the Vice President, North American Discoveries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field (Geology or closely related field) required
• 15 - 20 years progressive mining experience with a strong emphasis in exploration, mineral economics, and leadership required
• Experience based on mine sites with a track record of demonstrating interdepartmental collaboration is highly desirable required
• A strong foundation of fundamentals of geology, exploration procedures, business acumen and commercial skills required
• Proven ability to build strategic plans and execution delivering significant results; agile and not process driven required
• In-depth technical experience in exploration for multiple priority commodities/deposit styles. Preferable in-depth familiarity with two or more ore deposit styles required
• Strong and direct communication style that gets to the point in a timely manner with responding to issues and challenges head on, required
• Excellent data and business analysis skills – ability to conduct detailed analysis, define KPIs, provide business logic and calculations, meet reporting requirements required
• Ability to deliver concise business focused presentations and reports in simple to understand format to a wide cohort of cross functional peers and stakeholders required

Responsibilities

• Develop, empower, and lead a technically skilled team, supporting the delivery of the organization's exploration strategy
• Establish a project portfolio aligned with Barrick´s regional discovery strategy
• Implement and manage Greenfield and Brownfield programs on budget and scope
• Assist in the replacement, growth, and improvement in the quality of reserves and resources, while collaborating with all groups sharing the same mission
• Negotiate and lead all aspects of commercial exploration agreements
• Develop and maintain a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and the public while ensuring adherence to all regulatory and industry-standard working practices
• Align with all statutory and reporting requirements within the North America region
• You will be encouraged to work extra hard at times to deliver results
