In this position, you will operate the full range of heavy equipment involved in major construction, maintenance, and repair projects for the public right-of ways in the Public Works department. In addition you will provide training to equipment operators and supervise projects by communicating and coordinating projects with management, crew members, vendors, and the public. In this position, you will be required to respond to emergency after hours callouts. We're an accredited pay equity employer! As a District Crew Lead for Keep it Clean Operations, you will: Operate equipment such as a track excavator, motor grader, dozer, front end loader, backhoe, paving machine, milling machine, various types of compactors, semi-tractor trailer, and tanker. Operate a single or tandem axle dump truck with plow and sander. Construct and maintain unpaved/paved roadways, right-of-ways, and drainage structures using materials such as asphalt, concrete, rip rap, and/or geotextiles. Apply chemicals, abrasives, and other ice control products during snow removal operations. Perform manual labor such as cleaning culverts, mowing, pothole patching, and shoveling asphalt. Maintain log and record books. Provide lead supervision; schedule and coordinate the activities and services of assigned staff. Perform a variety of skilled construction and maintenance tasks.
