About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting the Executive Director in operating the State office and all its functions within the SkillsUSA Texas Constitutions; Bylaws through Chapter support in the assigned District of the State. Look for leadership and support from District coordinators to work with the Department of Education and critical local school administrators and teachers to build SkillsUSA Texas membership and participation. Plan and execute Fall Leadership and District Contests in their district. Provide leadership and assistance to new chapter advisors and overall district SkillsUSA Texas support in coordination with the State Office Staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the education field
  • Demonstrated accomplishment with critical stakeholders in fostering productive relationships that have translated into program acceptance and implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues throughout the organization, alumni, key stakeholders, and the public
  • Strong written and oral communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work independently, combined with the skills for thriving in a team environment, to achieve institutional goals
  • Proven high professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
  • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously, with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a communication system, creating regular contact with key stakeholders
  • Implement local, district, and regional strategies for the growth of SkillsUSA Texas within the assigned region
  • Work with Regional Manager I to create and maintain partnerships with the Department of Education and critical local school administrators and teachers to build SkillsUSA Texas membership and participation
  • Collaborate with the Director of Championships to prepare tech chairs, judges, and contest standards for the District Leadership and Skills Conferences, including competitions and tabulation
  • Collaborate with State Office Staff and execute Fall Leadership for the assigned district
  • Provide support at all SkillsUSA Texas Leadership and Skills Conferences
  • Participate in the execution of Summer Leadership in coordination with district officers' attendance
  • Maintained inventory of district supplies such as medals, ribbons, printers, and quiz bowl machines. Inventory is due annually on May 31
  • Mandatory attendance at the State Leadership and Skills Conference
  • Annual attendance to the District Coordinator convening before the beginning of the fiscal year
  • Extensive travel is required with this position, along with working evenings and weekends as needed
  • Strong computer skills and understanding of fiscal responsibility
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or State Office Staff
