Under the general direction of the Vice President of Human Resources and Risk Management, the incumbent will coordinate the District’s compliance programs related to Title IX, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), District Facility ADA, Whistleblower Act, and Workplace Violence laws. Specifically, this position will be responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and coordinating the campus’ response to students, faculty, staff, and visitors/third parties experiencing varying degrees of distress. Additionally, this position will develop and implement programs for, and to promote, diversity in the District’s workforce; will develop and implement programs for, and to promote understanding of, and compliance with, all relevant harassment and discrimination laws; and, will investigate and/or coordinate investigations into allegations of discrimination, retaliation and harassment. This is a management level class allocated only to the Department of Human Resources. The District Compliance Officer is responsible for overseeing the District's compliance efforts of federal, state and local regulations and mandates, and providing support to administrators, faculty, and staff on programs related to Title IX, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the California FRA, the California Whistleblower Act, and California Workplace Violence laws. The District Compliance Officer provides direct management and oversight over assigned human resource areas and functions for the District. The incumbent may also supervise, train, and evaluate the work performed by support staff.
