About The Position

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking a District Lead and Healthy Home Coordinator for the assigned health district. This role involves conducting case reviews, inspections, and risk assessments, writing reports, providing guidance and education to families and the medical community, coordinating outreach, and conducting enforcement activities. The position serves as a topic expert for the district in childhood lead poisoning and requires local travel.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, which includes the completion of 27 semester or 40 quarter hours in laboratory sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.)
One (1) year of experience at the lower-level PH Envir Compl Specialist 1 (RCP120) or equivalent position.
Certification as a Georgia Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor will be required within 120 days of starting employment.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in public health or environmental health/science.
Completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university which included the Completion of at least 27 semester hours (or 40 quarter hours) of laboratory sciences (e.g chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.)
Certified Georgia Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor.
Certified Healthy Homes Specialist.

Responsibilities
