About The Position

As a Distribution Supervisor, you’ll be part of our Jackson team working as an on-site employee. The role involves ensuring the safety of employees through active safety culture management, policy enforcement, and developing improvements. You will maintain an effective and efficient personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the department’s mission. This includes planning and coordinating work, training and motivating associates, monitoring their performance, and ensuring their ability to safely operate material handling equipment. Team member engagement is crucial, requiring effective relationship building and trust to execute daily/weekly/monthly goals. You will develop Team Leaders to oversee daily routines and monitor, measure, and document department performance for cost, labor, and productivity requirements. In collaboration with Human Resources, you will select employees, administer policies, monitor performance and attendance, resolve associate relations issues, coach, counsel, and apply discipline when necessary.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (minimum requirement)
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing setting.
  • Minimum 1+ years' recent relevant leadership experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with inventory or warehouse software, databases, and other systems including SAP and WMS

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety of employees via active safety culture management, policy enforcement, and assisting in developing improvements to our business
  • Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the department’s mission in an effective and efficient manner
  • Plan and coordinate work by performing time studies, cost analysis, or other means as necessary
  • Trains and motivates; monitors and evaluates performance of associates in the department
  • Ensures our associates ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations
  • Team member engagement. Effectively build relationships and trust with the team to successfully execute daily/weekly/monthly goals.
  • Develops Team Leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of their assigned associates
  • Monitors, measures, and documents department performance for cost, labor, and productivity requirements
  • Working with the Human Resources Department, select employees through the normal hiring process, consistently administer policies and procedures as applicable, monitor employee performance/attendance/time, resolve associate relation issues, coach and counsel for improvement and apply discipline consistently where necessary up to and including termination of employment.
