About The Position

This is a full-time remote professional procurement/supply chain role supporting a Business Sector with over $6 billion in annual revenue and material spend in the hundreds of millions. The role involves procuring highly specialized and complex materials, equipment, supplies, and services from established supply chain partners in our Distribution portfolio, based on program-specific requirements and specifications. The position develops purchase orders in accordance with specifications, requirements, work statements, and terms and conditions. The analyst will lead procurement activities and manage assigned commodities for complex programs. They will help develop, support, and execute sourcing strategies based on existing and forecasted spend, demand and supply challenges, and marketplace conditions, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Responsibilities include preparing/reviewing proposals, developing evaluation criteria, selecting suppliers, creating electronic purchase order (ePO) files for review, preparing awards, and administering resulting purchase orders. The role also involves negotiating changes to purchase orders, resolving invoicing issues, and adhering to established procurement policies and procedures to ensure best value while maintaining good supplier relations. The analyst is responsible for Procurement Compliance and Cost/Price Analysis. This role emphasizes supplier engagement, management, development, and production ramp-up, in addition to negotiating and ensuring compliance for high value/complex procurements. A successful candidate must be an effective communicator, build mutually beneficial business relationships, be willing to advance their knowledge of procurement compliance, and proactively adopt best practices and support new initiatives involving supplier quality and performance.

Requirements

  • Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Interest in gaining knowledge in buying across various commodities (electronics, mechanical, PWB’s, cables, optics…) in a Distribution-centric model
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve contractual and performance issues with suppliers or equivalent experience
  • Project / Supplier Management or applicable experience in an equivalent context
  • Financial acumen in quoting, P&L, and operating margin
  • Familiarity with Oracle purchasing system
  • Established proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations and the nature of flow down requirements
  • Knowledge of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulation) and EAR (Export Administration Regulation)
  • Understanding/knowledge of CPSR audits and requirements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of subcontractor solicitations and bid analysis/process.

Responsibilities

  • Develops purchase orders in accordance with specifications, requirements, work statements and terms and conditions.
