About The Position

The Distribution Services Coordinator is responsible for providing services to our clients, field partners, corporate employees, and internal operating teams, Thrivent Credit Union, and vendors. These services include sorting and preparing distribution through interoffice delivery, bringing certified mail to a United States Postal Service office, and mail pickup/delivery while adhering to schedules. The Distribution Services Coordinator makes regular scheduled and ad hoc pickup/delivery services of large packages, supplies, and equipment within the corporate center building. Replenishes copy/paper to all locations within the corporate center building. Additionally, this position requires demonstrated competence in the following functions: Incoming Mail, Outgoing Mail, Shipping, and Receiving. This is an In-Office role at our Minneapolis, MN headquarters.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Zero to one years related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with both internal and external partners
  • Flexibility to work additional hours or different schedules as needed is required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Required to work on-site

Nice To Haves

  • USPS and UPS mailing, and shipping experience
  • Understanding of Thrivent products, systems, and processes

Responsibilities

  • Processes incoming and outgoing mail for Thrivent and their affiliates efficiently and effectively while meeting agreed service and quality standards. This may include electronically scanning mail to send items to the appropriate person or team.
  • Pickup, deliver mail and/or packages to ensure it reaches the appropriate person at the proper destination.
  • Shipping: performs the routine services for the centralized preparation and shipping of parcels and freight shipments from the corporate center to the field, external locations, or within the organization; including event materials. In addition to, managing all requests for outgoing shipments.
  • Receiving: performs the routine services for the centralized receiving, inspection, verification, storage, and communication regarding all shipments arriving at the corporate center.
  • Processes all shipping invoices and purchase orders by charging the appropriate function in purchasing and accounting software.
  • Processes mailing and/or shipping requests identified by internal business areas, partners, or the field.
  • Assesses and determines the most accurate and cost-effective envelope(s) and/or package solutions for various pieces unique in size, shape, and weight.
  • Clean and restock supplies at mail stops, work areas, and distribution areas.
  • Assist the Sr. Distribution Coordinator and Supervisor with continuous process improvements to optimize performance.
  • Collaborates and assists with other departments' workloads as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Thrivent employees and business areas that process and/or support the day-to-day business transactions for our clients. This person also staffs the corporate mail room and interact with anyone visiting, emailing, or calling the mail room or meeting at the mail stops.
