About The Position

This Distribution Project Engineer position supports the planning, design, and execution of gas infrastructure projects. This role involves project scoping, engineering design, cost estimating, regulatory compliance, and construction support for new and replacement pipeline assets. The engineer works closely with Project Management, Operations, and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with 49 CFR Part 192 and internal company standards. Each engineer is an individual contributor with their own portfolio of projects, while the greater team is highly supportive and collaborative of each other's work. The position sits within a 6-person engineering group and an 8-person PM group, and supports internal business operations.

Requirements

Proficiency in AutoCAD or a similar CAD program
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Strong communication skills

Organized and detail-oriented
Engineering degree required
No previous experience required — entry-level candidates will be considered

Nice To Haves

More than 4 years toward a bachelor's degree (no large gaps in education or employment)

Responsibilities

Update project tracking list with current project status
Prepare design drawings and service spreadsheets
Research existing asset information
Prepare and/or review operating procedures
Prepare project Stage Gate documentation
Attend meetings, including Project CFTs, trainings, staff meetings, and coordination meetings
Visit project field locations for planning or construction support
