New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) helps New Yorkers before, during, and after emergencies through preparedness, education, and response. NYCEM is responsible for coordinating citywide emergency planning and response for all types and scales of emergencies. The Logistics Bureau works to increase the City’s ability to support emergency operations with a sustained and well-coordinated supply chain of resources. This position is in the Humanitarian Logistics unit. Under the supervision of the Humanitarian Logistics Director, the Distribution Program Manager will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Commodity Distribution Point (CDP) program, which provides life-sustaining commodities such as food, water, and baby formula to the public following a disaster. The role may include planning for other distribution operations that may arise, such as pumps and masks. In addition to this critical mass care program, the selected candidate will also be responsible for serving as the Logistics Bureau’s subject matter expert on vulnerable populations to include, but not limited to: persons with disabilities, persons with special medical needs, persons with access and functional needs, and persons with low English proficiency.
