About The Position

The Distribution Operator (MDC) is responsible for receiving and warehousing incoming finished goods, bulk cheese, and warehouse inventory. This role involves assembling products for outbound disposition to customers, meeting their specific requirements. The operator will utilize computerized terminals and RF units for handling products and data entry. The position requires supporting bulk operations when needed and working collaboratively with leaders and partners to ensure food safety and partner safety. Adherence to standard operating procedures, performing PCP checks, and following reaction plans for food safety, quality, and customer requirement outages are critical. Accurate data recording on production reports is essential. The role operates in a 35-38 degree environment and requires maintaining proper product rotation.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in distribution operations – order picking up to 50Lb cases.
  • Data entry and cycle counting post pick with required inventory adjustments in Invio.
  • Understanding of the RF unit, how to read, data entry and use to perform duties.
  • Proficient in GMP’s and all QSP’s concerning distribution.
  • Complete understanding and the ability to communicate food safety requirements pertaining to trailer condition, refer settings, and what items are food safe to load with cheese.
  • Understanding of the legal requirements of a Bill of Lading and follows the proper procedure for signing and completing the documentation.
  • Ability to complete Over Short and Damage paperwork with an Inbound finished goods load.
  • Working knowledge and safe operation of all Distribution Center equipment: Forklift, stretch wrapper, pallet inverter, dock plate, dock lock, dock doors, battery chargers, and battery crane.
  • Maintains proper rotation of products within the Bulk Cheese, Finished Goods and Dry Storage warehouses.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members including: Traffic clerk, Inventory Control, QA Technician, System Specialist, and leaders to ensure all customer requirements are met.
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehension of the English language is required.
  • Must be able to work overtime or weekends.
  • Ability to learn and operate computerized data entry systems (Invio) from radio frequency terminals mounted on forklifts.
  • Must be viewed as a team player (by partners in current work areas).
  • Ability to read and write legibly.
  • Proficient in math skills that will allow you to accurately process customer orders.
  • Must have prior forklift experience (6 months minimum) warehouse type PIV’s.
  • Must be able to become power equipment operator certified and keep that certification on-going.
  • Must be able to work overtime or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Properly receive and warehouse incoming finished goods, bulk cheese, and warehouse inventory.
  • Assemble products for outbound disposition to customers, meeting their requirements.
  • Utilize computerized terminals and RF units for handling products, data entry, and cycle counting.
  • Perform Bulk support when needed.
  • Ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety in collaboration with leaders and partners.
  • Understand and execute standard operating procedures relative to the position.
  • Perform all required PCP checks and follow reaction plans for Food Safety, Food Quality, and customer requirement outages.
  • Identify and understand customer requirements and assist in assuring proper operation and product.
  • Record accurate data on production reports.
  • Satisfactorily complete Forklift training and maintain forklift operator license.
  • Satisfactorily complete all Job Specific Safety Training including LOTO and JHA.
  • Satisfactorily complete 3-5 week training checklist and meet requirements.
  • Perform order picking up to 50Lb cases.
  • Perform data entry and cycle counting post pick with required inventory adjustments in Invio.
  • Understand and use the RF unit to perform duties.
  • Build outbound loads for shipment, ensuring customer specific requirements are met (temp recorders, high cube and weight loads to DOT standards, accurate multi-stop load building, customer unique double stacking requirements).
  • Process Vendor Receipts, including entering critical data and reconciling vendor BOL quantities and weights to Invio PO information.
  • Accurately receive product for redistribution and understand customer requirements.
  • Reconcile customer BOL to Invio (weight, lot number, shelf life, make date, item number, case qty), research differences, and follow unique customer specific SOPs.
  • Proficiently use GMP’s and all QSP’s concerning distribution.
  • Complete understanding and ability to communicate food safety requirements pertaining to trailer condition, refer settings, and what items are food safe to load with cheese.
  • Maintain Food Safety training and certification.
  • Understand the legal requirements of a Bill of Lading and follow the proper procedure for signing and completing the documentation.

  • Assemble customer orders by stock number, lot/sub lot number or other identified methods.
  • Move product or material to ensure ITPs accuracy for ingredients, film, and corrugated.
  • Communicate effectively with team members including: Traffic clerk, Inventory Control, QA Technician, System Specialist, and leaders to ensure all customer requirements are met.
  • Learn and operate computerized data entry systems (Invio) from radio frequency terminals mounted on forklifts.
  • Learn to use Video Display terminals.
  • Be a team player.
  • Read and write legibly.
  • Perform math skills that will allow accurate processing of customer orders.
  • Work overtime or weekends as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by TL/TA.
