The Distribution Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing all equipment, piping systems, valves, and machinery at our power plant located in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a full-time, hourly, union position and reports to the Distribution Manager. The compensation range for this position is $34.16-$46.09 per hour plus a 10% bonus target. Effective October 1, 2026, the compensation range for this position is $35.18-$47.44 per hour plus a 10% bonus target.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year experience in an industrial maintenance setting

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to perform basic computer operations and use email
  • Valid MD 4th or 5th Grade Stationary Engineers License
  • Minimum one year Pipefitting experience
  • Minimum one year Welding experience
  • Minimum one year Rigging certification

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe working conditions in accordance with established Company policies
  • Identify, report and/or correct unsafe work environments
  • Operate all hand/power tools in a competent manner
  • Install, repair, replace, and trouble shoot piping systems, valves, steam traps, pumps
  • Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
  • Exercise caution in the use and maintenance of all company equipment
  • Respond to emergency situations immediately and work quickly to correct the problem(s).
  • Participate in training to continue education and skills in craft
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Distribution Manager
  • Participate in training to further welding skills, as needed by the department
  • Takes rotating, on-call (beeper) on weekends, back shifts, and holidays
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
